We’re proud to announce that Dr. Michelle Dees, board-certified psychiatrist and founder of Luxury Psychiatry Clinic, is the lead author of a groundbreaking clinical study published in The Journal of Psychiatry and Psychiatric Disorders titled “ExoTMS™ Technology: A Novel Breakthrough in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation for Enhancing Mental Well-Being.”
This IRB-approved clinical trial evaluated the effects of ExoTMS™, a next-generation form of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), on mental well-being. Thirty-three participants received four non-invasive ExoTMS™ sessions using the EXOMIND device. Results were measured using the validated Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale (WEMWBS), alongside patient-reported outcomes.
The findings were significant: 87.5% of participants showed measurable improvements in mental well-being by the 3-month follow-up, with statistically significant gains in mood, stress, anxiety, sleep quality, confidence, and overall mental energy. Among patients with depression, 91.7% reported improved mood and reduced anxiety after just one month. Impressively, 90.9% of all participants found the treatment comfortable, with an average pain rating of just 0.2 out of 10—considerably lower than traditional TMS.
Unlike standard TMS, ExoTMS™ uses ramp-up shaped pulses and dual-core coil design for enhanced magnetic field efficiency and improved patient comfort. These features may contribute to stronger neuroplastic effects in fewer sessions.
